Slurp!

Who or what brings you to the yard? It’s taken a few wonderful, fun-filled weeks and a lot of sampling and laughing, but I’ve managed to get my hands (and mouth) on some super yummy shakes! Now I’m no food critic, but I do like to share tasty experiences. A few sugges- tions for your milk shake tour:

Nau’s Enfield Drug and Soda Fountain

1115 W. Lynn St.

Totally reminds me of riding my bicycle with my sister in the summer to Dubbe’s Pharmacy and having some ice cream after going to the library! (Man, we were crazy!) The classic chocolate had me literally mak- ing “nom nom” noises.

Big Top Candy Shop

1706 South Congress Ave.
Check out the Wasabi Shake! I couldn’t get enough.

24 Diner

600 North Lamar Blvd.

What? Roasted banana and brown sugar? Yes, please!

Handshakes

1104 East Sixth St. (same lot as Spartan Pizza)

The pancake shake was amazeballs, and the classic chocolate with chocolate chips rocked my face!

Hopdoddy Burger Bar

1400 South Congress Ave.

The caramel and sea salt is a must.

Alamo Draft House

All the shakes are amazing. And for the adults, try the (512) Pecan Porter—yum.
