In honor of our statewide November/December issue, we threw three Texas-sized parties in Dallas, Houston and Austin. The L Style G Style crew took a tri-city road trip to hand-deliver the latest issue and celebrate in each city. Co-founder Alisa Weldon attended all three parties, meeting new faces and speaking about the optimistic future of L Style G Style. Giveaways at each party included two handmade leather cuffs from Vintage Ware, Stella Artois chalice package, and Cuvee Coffee + L Style G Style coffee mugs.

Our first release party was in the heart of Oak Lawn in Dallas. Legendary Dallas restaurateur Monica Greene’s newly opened Monica’s Nueva Cocina in the Ilume development was the perfect spot for our party. With bright luchador (Mexican wrestling masks) decorating the intimate bar area, a packed house and acoustic music from DFW native Elizabeth Wills, partygoers enjoyed a great night. Guests mingled over magazines, Monica’s appetizers, and Neuro beverages. L Cover Feature, makeup artist Terri Tomlinson, and G counterpart, Vice President of Wade College John Conte, both attended with fashionable friends in tow. Cece Cox of Resource Center Dallas, Greg Haynes Johnson of DIFFA and the regal Jan Strimple also joined us. As the night continued, L Style G Style party attendees joined the Thursday night crowd at the Dallas hotspot.
In Houston we celebrated at Momentum BMW amongst shiny cars and fashionable people. Guests enjoyed handcrafted Monkey Shoulder whiskey and Stoli Vodka cocktails, Neuro beverages and Whole Foods party. G Cover Features Marcus Sloan and Shannon Hall of boutique Sloan/Hall came with beautifully bow-tied men, while L Cover Feature Chau Hua of Ciao Salon shared the night with family members and salon friends. Sorry Dallas and Austin, but Houston was our most fashionable party! Friends from the Houston Arts Alliance and the David Peck Collection kept it classy with bright colors and beautiful bags. At the end of the night, Kris Cogliano of Momentum BMW raffled off a 48-hour test drive for a lucky guest.
Our final party was in Austin, where L Style G Style has called home since 2007. Our Austin release party was a sold-out affair at Four Hands Home. Guests enjoyed small bites by In Good Taste Catering and Lil Mama’s while lounging on the gorgeous furniture at Four Hands. Partygoers stayed well hydrated with two cocktail bars, featuring deliciously refreshing St. Germain cocktails, Ketel One Vodka and Don Julio drinks prepared by Tipsy Texans Joyce Garrison and Rhonda Tacker. Stella Artois and Neuro were available as well. The musical styling’s of jazz artist Jeff Lofton and his quartet set the tone for the night. Our L Cover, hairstylist Janet St. Paul, came with a sassy new haircut. G Cover Lance Avery Morgan looked as dapper in person has he does on our pages. Friends Hilah Johnson and Steve Wiman mingled with guests. On their way out, attendees received special discounts from Four Hands Home, L Style G Style sugar cookies made by Kellies Kandies and aqua-scented travel candles by Lights Out.
