Jailhouse Jamboree

3037

With a full week of panels, films and music ahead of us, there’s almost no doubt that by mid-week, some of us will be well on our way to exhaustion. But like all Austinies and SXSW veterans know, the festival is more of a marathon than a fast-paced race and you’ll have to pace yourself in order to make it to the end. Believe me, you’re going to want to make it to the end. You won’t want to miss one of the most anticipated showcases to hit SXSW this year – the Jailhouse Jamboree. And headlining what’s anticipated to be the largest girls party during SXSW is none other than Orange is the New Black’s newest cast member Ruby Rose.

11041759_10153122561394894_2878039350599792660_nHosted by Girls With Flair!, an all-female event production company working to promote powerful women in arts and entertainment, the Jailhouse Jamboree takes Sunday Funday to a whole new level. They’ve pulled out the big guns for this showcase, boasting some of the finest female talent in the city. Themed accordingly, a tribute to Rose’s newest role in the famed Netflix series OITNB, the showcase features a night of live performances by female musicians and bands, including Austin rock band Torino Black, hip-hop and neo-soul band Magna Carda, DJ Sarah Battle, DJ Nixx and many more.

Here’s what else you can expect: burlesque dancers, interactive photobooths, “the orange carpet,” stellar drink specials all night, special guests and surprise celebrity appearances. For the grand finale, Ruby Rose takes stage to spin a fierce DJ set, closing out SXSW with a bang. Tickets and V.I.P. specials are now for sale – but don’t wait too late to get your tickets, this hand selected line up is not to be missed!
