Calling all art enthusiasts! Today, The Contemporary Austin’s 16th Annual Five X Seven event kicks into full swing. Showcasing over 600 original works of art created by Texas artists, the event starts with a Cocktails and Art Preview where guests can see artwork and scout out favorites before it goes on sale. The art sale begins at 8pm with all 5×7 artwork going for $150 ($100 for members). In addition, the event boasts live beats by DJ Adrian Quesada, bites from TRACE, The Preserve Kitchen, Eden East and Henri’s and beverages by Tito’s Vodka, Independence Brewing, and wine from Broadbent Selections. Five x Seven will also feature its first silent auction with works by pasts and current Contemporary Austin exhibiting artists Orly Genger, Tom Sachs and Do Ho Suh.
The evening will be topped with an official after-party, where guests are invited to mix and mingle with artists and collectors and enjoy live music from Austin band, Whiskey Shivers. Proceeds from the Five X Seven event benefit the exhibition program at The Contemporary Austin.
