When no resources for LGBT and questioning youth existed, Out Youth sought to make it possible, striving to provide much needed services and programs, such as counseling, support groups, educational programs, a drop-in center and free HIV testing. The nonprofit organization hasn’t stopped there: this Saturday, Out Youth presents Glitz, an annual fundraising gala bringing community members together in support of LGBT youth living in Austin and Central Texas. The event features an evening of cocktails courtesy of Deep Eddy Vodka, an open bar, photographers catching candids of friends, family, and supporters in attendance, and hor d’oeuvres. Held at the home of philanthropists Cord and Annie Shiflet, Glitz promises to be “a glamorous night under the stars.”
Proceeds from Glitz support Out Youth and the many services and resources it offers. Regular admission tickets are $75 during pre-sale and $80 at the door (if tickets still remain). VIP tickets are $150 and include access to a VIP cocktail reception, donor recognition, and a gift bag.
