Gala Co-Chairs Sharon Francia, Frances Bennett and Catherine Wilkes, along with the Board of Directors, cordially invite you to join us this year for the Paramount Theatre’s 100th Anniversary Gala on Saturday, May 9th, featuring Lyle Lovett and Friends. This year we celebrate with an artist who has performed on our historic stage many times over his career. Plus, Lyle is inviting some very special friends to celebrate with all of us that night. That night, we will be dedicating a star on Congress Avenue to Lyle Lovett which will be a permanent fixture on the Paramount Theatre Avenue of the Stars (example on right). In addition to Lyle Lovett and Friends, you will enjoy other musical acts, including, The Carper Family, Skyrocket, and more. The evening includes a seated dinner in an air-conditioned tent on Congress Avenue, open bar all evening, and the best live and silent auction in town. The funds raised from this event support the preservation of our historic theatres, continuation of our Education and Outreach programs, and general operating needs to keep us open for the Paramount’s next century. This event will sell out, so please order your tickets today. Thank you!

Tickets and tables to the Gala are SOLD OUT!
To join the wait list, please email Paige Deegan

May 9, 2015: Centennial Timeline6:00 PM          PRE-SHOW RECEPTION – The doors and bars will open promptly at 6pm at the Paramount Theatre, so please come early to mingle with your friends prior to the show and enjoy live music by The Carper Family and prepare to be surprised with some special guest appearances.

6:30 PM          SHOW BEGINS – The show in the Paramount begins at 6:30pm, so don’t be late or you may miss one of the biggest shows ever and some of the best auction items of the night!

9:00 – 12 AM   CONGRESS AVENUE TENT PARTY – After the show, join us on Congress                   Avenue for a party you won’t soon forget. Two blocks of Congress Avenue will be tented, decorated and air-conditioned with a fabulous dinner catered by the our partners at the InterContinental Stephen F Austin Hotel, and Patron Spirits Company specialty drinks served all night long. Featuring live music
by Skyrocket, our post-party is the place to be! It will be a full night of fun, including dancing, and Austin’s most impressive silent auction! All the amazing auction items will be listed in the program for your review and there will be plenty to choose  from – all for a good cause. The actual party will head over to the Stephen F Austin Terrace Bar Hotel at midnight.

ATTIRE – As for “appropriate attire,” we highly recommend any outfit or nod to the era from 1915 to 1930. We are taking the whole event back in time to the days when the Paramount Theatre first opened its doors on October 11, 1915. Check back for links to ideas and referrals to places for the perfect turn-of-the-century outfit. Not the costume kind? That is ok too.  Pick your favorite attire from any time from 1915 forward – the Paramount has welcomed fashions from each decade for the last 100 years. Remember to dress with comfort in mind too (i.e. your shoes) so you can enjoy the post-show event out on two full blocks of Congress Avenue in our air-conditioned tents with dinner, live music, auction and more.

PARKING – Please plan to park in the One American Center garage. The garage entrance is located on 7th Street (between Colorado and Congress Avenue) on the south side of the street. Please present your gala tickets or mention you are attending the event to the attendant for entrance into the garage. The garage will open at 5pm on May 9th for guests.

AUCTION – Big news on the auction coming soon! If you’d like to donate an auction item, fill out the online form or download the 2015 Gala Auction Packet.

Please contact mjordan@austintheatre.org with any questions. Thank you.
