Everyone is Gay co-founders, Dannielle Owens-Reid and Kristin Russo, will be at BookWoman in Austin at 7:00 pm on Friday, December 12, to promote their new book, THIS IS A BOOK FOR PARENTS OF GAY KIDS. At the event, the authors will engage with the local community, share inspiring stories from the book and foster conversations about LGBTQ youth issues, parenting, and diverse representations of family. Owens-Reid and Russo have reached over 8 million readers online with their work for LGBTQ youth, have over 100,000 Tumblr followers, and close to 2 million YouTube views, and are thrilled to bring their wit and wisdom on the road for a larger audience of parents, young people, and community members.
THIS IS A BOOK FOR PARENTS OF GAY KIDS speaks to parents who want practical, straightforward advice on how to communicate and better parent their LGBTQ child.
Canadian author Vivek Shraya will join the authors in Austin. Shraya will read from his book, GOD LOVES HAIR, a compilation of short stories following a tender, intellectual, and curious child as he navigates complex realms of sexuality, gender, racial politics, religion, and belonging.
