Drag Out Funny Pink Party Goes Glam in San Marcos
The 5th annual Drag Out Funny, a night of high energy entertainment, will feature headliners Lady Shamu from Houston, Tencha La Jefa from San Antonio, and Brass Ovaries from Austin. The show is at Stonewall Warehouse, on the Smirnoff Vodka stage, in San Marcos on Saturday February 20, 2016, at 9 p.m.
“The Pink Party” theme offers guests the opportunity to deck out in pink and participate in the “Pinktastic” Runway Walkoff competition. The doors open at 8 p.m. and those 18 and up with a photo ID are welcome. Pre-sale tickets are available for $15 at www.DragOutFunny.com or at the door for $20.
Drag Out Funny is an annual event supporting the Bobcat Pride Scholarship Fund® (BPSF) which offers academic and leadership development scholarships, internships, and emergency funding to Texas State University Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, and Asexual/Agender/Aromantic/Ally (LGBTQIA) students in order to complete their college education.
Chitah Daniels Kennedy, a prominent drag queen in the San Marcos community will host the show featuring:
- Political comedian Daniel Rugg Webb
- The United Court of Austin high glamour drag queens
- The Tastee Pastee & The Brown Broads burlesque performers
- Rico suave drag king Geri A Trix
- And many other drag performers, comedians, and burlesque
Drag Out Funny has become an anticipated show bringing the hill country community together. “Driving in to see Drag Out Funny is always a pleasure for us and is becoming a tradition to look forward to every year. The combination of comedy skits and drag performances is entertaining and completely unique,” share Shantel and Lindsey, Texas State Alumni. “The Pink Party promises to offer the best entertainment we’ve ever had,” said Jenni Ward, Financial Director of BPSF.

All proceeds from ticket sales and silent auction/raffle will directly replenish resources for LGBTQIA Texas State students.
BPSF is a volunteer driven nonprofit that has expanded the type and amount of support it offers recipients since its inception in 2010. The generous support from the community has allowed BPSF to award over $30,000 in funding over the last five years.
This fund is private and independent from Texas State University and all donations are tax deductible. The fund is exempt in according with IRS regulations as a 501(c)(3) public charity.
